Installation “Sel; between worlds”. At Sel in Fossfjörður, Eygló Harðardóttir opens a path into the weathered memory of the A-framed summerhouse. She introduces new materials into the abandoned structure, and calls forward details with particular attention; what was and is. Lifts these things up and exposes them to us. You could consider the installation and all of its components a play of call and response, where a desire to sense something concrete leads to a better understanding of the place and personal history attached to it. Here, Eygló reads the house anew; turns its interior lights on, holds its parts up to the window where the sun leaks in, and mirrors back to us what already exists under its layers of history and surrounding environment. Curator and words by Becky Forsythe.
